Food Strategy

Nothing is more important that what you put in you. Even if you only eat one week's worth of fresh fruit and vegetables, its worth the effort to go out and buy good food for yourself. Most of us however, are unable to afford to purchase all our food, so we prioritize what we can't get with our discretionary spending, such as: Oil, and sweeteners, tea and medicinal herbs, and of course personal hygiene products.

What we know from bodybuilding experience is that eating an unchanging diet of high protein foods is also a mistake. The body adapts to the environment you provide it, and after a period of a couple months or so, whatever you've been accustomed to will begin to fail. In order to build strength, we need to be able to adapt. It is the very definition of health itself: The Ability to Adapt. So, to stay fit, we keep changing our diet and exercise routines to build real strength. Don't worry about not being able to purchase the best food for yourself all the time. Learn to adapt to a changing diet, and be fit.

Fresh Water

A friend of mine (also in the Web Development business) suggested I use filtered water, and I've been doing so ever since. It helps to get out every couple days or so anyway, and I've got a solid cart to carry my water with as well. Don't be shy about this requirement. It is an international right to have clean drinking water and cannot be denied. Our river provides plenty of water, but its quality is questionable. There are over 100 towns north of the Twin City Metro area that don't have sewage treatment plants, and their sewage goes directly into the Mississippi. We sanitize the water, but one wonders if the chemicals are really an improvement to the natural sediment of the rivers own digestive system. After using purified water, I've chosen to play it safe.
