God begins with only one rule: "Do not partake of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil!" However, when Eve is questioned about the rule she adds: "And neither shall you touch it!"
God's rule is redefined. Eve's interpretation is allowed. And, because she was not made to say it, the power to rule is shared by God's creation.
The power to create is God's power, and ought not be treated lightly or selfishly, nor be despised or loathed, but the question put to Eve enabled her to share in God's power to create, and to become a ruler.
